Kyle Edmund Signs with British Airways

British number one tennis player Kyle Edmund has become a brand ambassador for British Airways.

The new partnership will see Edmund fly with British Airways to most of his major global competitions in 2018. The length and financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed. RELATED: Anakena Wines Names Jamie Murray as Brand Ambassador The 23-year-old, who recently reached the semi-finals of the Australian Open Grand Slam tournament, was officially ranked number one in Britain on Monday, overtaking Scottish rival Andy Murray, who had held the top spot for almost 12 years. "There’s no better feeling than being able to represent your country," said Edmund. "Being able to fly around the world to competitions with British Airways will make me feel as though I have the support of the nation behind me on every journey. "It is a special moment for me to become the British number one. Combining the two, this extraordinary partnership and reaching the number one spot in the country, will make me work even harder." Alex Cruz, chief executive of British Airways, added, "It’s wonderful to be partnering with young British talent like Kyle and we very much look forward to supporting him on his travels all over the world as he flies the flag for Great Britain." Edmund will take his first flight with British Airways when he travels to the Miami Open, an ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event which is due to take place from 19th March to 1st April.
